Open discussion

ALL SESSIONS START WITH A DISCUSSION

The young people will receive ‘high impact visual presentations’ from several experienced volunteers, ranging from ex-gang members to substance misuse and Criminal Justice Practitioners. Also included will be Parental Engagement & Behaviour management coordinators and follow up specialists such as social work advisers.

This will render a holistic approach (mentoring) with after care support to be delivered by Actions for Changes. They will be given a unique insight into how a young person’s life can be fundamentally changed if they make the wrong choices but also to highlight the life benefits of making the right choices.

Actions for Changes has recognised the gaps within current available projects aimed to tackle manipulative and maladaptive behaviours. By extending the methodological techniques used within these projects, and by utilising various professionals and those who have been engaged in and reformed from such serious behaviours, a strong and diverse support network is provided in conjunction with the theoretical research basis of the project. Actions for Changes aims to be able to successfully pave the way for positive and ultimately long term changes in the participant’s lives.

THE TALKS ALSO PROVIDE INSPIRATION FOR THEIR CREATIVE SESSION

The open discussions not only encourage debate and challenge the young people, but it also break down barriers which will ultimately assist in bringing about the change in the young person’s life.
